Testing/Evaluations

Purpose of Testing –

Evaluations provide valuable insights into an individual’s developmental, cognitive, academic, and/or psychosocial functioning and can be conducted from early childhood through adulthood.

Information Revealed –

Evaluations assess strengths and challenges related to academic performance, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism and the need for accommodations in school or standardized testing. They can also be administered to children and adults to evaluate advanced problem-solving and learning abilities, helping to determine eligibility for advanced academic programs or specialized organizations.

Evaluations also assess emotional and behavioral functioning, providing important insights into personality, psychological constructs, and interpersonal style in order to guide clinical diagnosis and treatment planning.

Length of Testing –

Evaluations are thorough and tailored to each individual. They are conducted with careful attention to detail, often spanning several days, and involve various data collection methods, including direct test administration, observations, and consultations. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s behavioral, emotional, academic and cognitive functioning.

Concluding the Process –

Upon completion of test administration, extensive time is spent interpreting the results and communicating findings in a written report. Practical and useful suggestions are also provided in order to assist individuals in receiving the necessary accommodations and services they may need to be successful.
